What are the factors affecting the quality of black masterbatch?

Black masterbatch is produced from carbon black. Here we mainly analyze the factors that determine the quality of black masterbatch for you, as follows:

1. Dispersion: Carbon black is a very difficult and dirty mixture, dusty, light and fluffy. Unless it is treated on a large scale, it will pollute machines and workers and make the working environment dirty.

Coverage: This factor is particularly important for masterbatches used in waste or recycling polymers. In these cases, the effect of black is to cover other colors in the waste. Large particle carbon black has poor coloring ability and is not easy to cover other colors in the lower layer. It only deviates from the final product. In the melting process, the so-called covering power is the ability to choose the right carbon black with strong coloring ability to cover the existing color.

3. Rheological property: If the masterbatch itself has good dispersion, but can not flow into the material to be moulded, the production effect is not ideal. Generally speaking, the primer used to produce masterbatch has high rheological properties. In order to save costs, some masterbatch manufacturers use recycled materials, waste or recycled materials as resin carriers.

4. Compatibility: If masterbatch is made of debris or recycled materials, it may contain contaminants or other non-melting polymers. This will lead to unpredictable and uncontrollable waste, waste of time and raw materials of the final consumer. At this time, the base resin can be used to produce high quality masterbatch, which has good compatibility in the melting process. LLDPE, LDPE, HDPE, PP, PS, SAN, PA and other materials can be used to produce high quality masterbatches.

5. Stability: In today's international economic situation, international customers have higher requirements for masterbatch quality and raw material stability. This is also the fifth factor that determines the quality of black masterbatch. Smooth carbon black ratio is one of the main performance of stability. If the percentage of carbon black fluctuates, the number of masterbatches to be melted varies, and it is impossible to produce products of the same color.

6. Colour light: There are various kinds of carbon black on the market which can be used for colouring masterbatches, but each colour and price are also very different. The coloration degree of large particle carbon black is lower than that of small particle carbon black, and the background color is different. Large black masterbatches are suitable for film production, such as garbage bags, but not for beautiful products, such as TV signs or places requiring ultraviolet protection, such as agricultural films or external pipes.
