Color masterbatch has certain requirements for pigments. We discuss the selection of color masterbatch in the following aspects.

Main points of color masterbatch:

(1) Attention should be paid to other properties, such as color. For plastic products used in food, the demand for plastic pigments in children's toys should be non-toxic; electrical and electrical insulation materials should be selected well; for outdoor plastic products, pigments with good aging resistance should be selected.

(2) Dispersion and dyeing power of color materials should be good. When the color material is unevenly distributed, it will affect the appearance of the product. When the color of the color material is poor, the amount of pigments will increase, and the cost of the material will also increase. The dispersibility and colouring power of the same material in different resins are different, which should be paid attention to when choosing pigments. The particle size and dispersion of pigments are also related. The smaller the particle size, the better the dispersion and the stronger the dyeing power.

(3) Pigments do not react with resins and various additives. They have strong solvent resistance, low fluidity and good heat resistance. In other words, color masterbatches can not participate in various chemical reactions. For example, the vulcanization reaction of carbon black can control polyester plastics, so carbon black can not be added to polyester materials; because the plastic forming temperature is higher, the pigments should not decompose and discolor at the forming temperature. Generally, inorganic pigments have better heat resistance and organic pigments and dyes have poor heat resistance. It should pay more attention to the selection of color varieties.
